Project Meditation Research Center
In today’s world, YOGA doesn’t need any introduction. Growing beyond the borders of India, Yogic sciences have now spread over the world, becoming well known as the ancient Indian physical and mental discipline that can help us achieve our highest potential and to experience enduring health and happiness.
Today various aspects of Yoga such as “Aasan” and “Pranayam”, are being practiced by innumerable people across the globe, and are helping them in improving their lives. However, Yoga goes well beyond the popularly known and practiced exercises and postures. “Aasan” and “Pranayam” are like the proverbial tip of the iceberg. There is a whole host of knowledge still waiting to be discovered by the world.
Our Concept
Traditionally, Hindu thought and culture have always been transmitted by word of mouth – gyan was always handed down by the guru to the shishya, typically gurus even chose only a few capable shishyas for this. Yogvedica has been established by Yogi Simant after he learnt yoga from gurus in his travels in the Himalayas.
It was there that he experienced energy as a basis of life, learnt to manage energy flows in the body through advanced yoga, and experienced “Aadhyatmic anubhuti”. In the past 3 years, Yogi Simant has been teaching yoga through various courses like Avtaran, Manthan, Core Yoga and Corporate Yoga.

These courses include the secret “mudras” and “kriyas”, which he learnt in the Himalayas.

In past few years, Yogvedica has developed a considerable amount of expertise in yoga and meditation that goes far beyond the present level of knowledge in western research on meditation and meditative absorption. We believe Yogvedica is now ready for the next phase in its Meditation Research Center program, where we want to conduct research on the biological and neurological impact of advanced Yoga.

Yogvedica’s Meditation Research Centre is envisaged to be a world-class facility, combining the best of both worlds – traditional wisdom from east and the modern technology from the west. The centre would be located in the lap of Himalayas in India, would be secluded from modern civilization, and yet would contain modern medical research facilities, and would be integrated to the world through advanced communication technologies.

One of the critical needs of the project would be to create such environment that the subject can meditate without interruption. We intend to develop a village style commune with branch farm, orchard and vegetable gardens in traditional and typical vedic era design with a Teaching Centre, Dormitories, Sadhana Hall, meditation cave, pyramid huts, along with a Medical Science and Research centre, Library and seminar rooms.
We hope that this unique setup in our Research Centre at the foothills of the Himalayas will allow for the recording and scientific interpretation of the physical and neurological changes in the expert meditators in different traditions and give a firmer foundation to the study of advanced high-order states of consciousness.
This would require significant investments on infrastructure – land, construction, and modern medical equipment. The expenses on conducting studies, involving senior medical practitioners, etc. would constitute the running expenses. Pharmaceutical companies in USA alone spend around $50 billion on research and development every year. Over years, medical research has been highly rewarding for investors. However, while new medicines have been continuously discovered in the past, we are nowhere near eliminating any disease.

A tiny fraction of this amount channeled into a unique approach like Meditation Research Centre can help us in doing that. When you get associated with this program as an donor, not only will you get a chance to transform your life through yoga, you will help in establishing yoga medically, thereby providing millions a chance in their lives.
